HINDI & ENGLISH OCR

Hindi PDF OCR without uploading your document.

A scanned PDF is usually a picture of a page. You can read the letters, but ordinary text selection cannot. Fire PDF uses optical character recognition (OCR) to turn the visible Hindi or English text into text you can review, copy and download.

Extract Hindi text in three steps

  1. Open your scanned PDF. Launch the web editor and choose Open PDF. Select the page you want to recognize.
  2. Choose the OCR language. Open Convert → Hindi OCR · page. For a mixed-language document, choose OCR all pages and enter eng+hin.
  3. Review the result. Check names, numbers and Devanagari characters in the result window. Use Copy or Download text to keep the recognized text.

Use a straight, well-lit scan with sharp letters. Crop away the desk or background, correct the page orientation and avoid shadows across the text. Small print, handwriting and faded photocopies may need manual correction. OCR accuracy depends on the source; always check important numbers against the original page.

What stays on your device?

PDF pages and recognized text are processed in your browser. OCR code and language data download when required, so the initial setup needs an internet connection. Your document is not sent to Fire PDF for recognition. Anonymous website traffic measurement is separate from document processing.

The web OCR workflow returns text for copying or downloading. Do not assume that running OCR alone adds a searchable text layer to the original PDF. For the desktop OCR workflow, see the Desktop app.

Can I use English and Hindi together?

Yes. Use OCR all pages with eng+hin for mixed-language pages. For a Hindi-only page, choosing Hindi avoids unnecessary English recognition.
